Tip #4:
Why does it take so long to add an item to a Report section?
This reason that this occurs is because each time an item is added or modified in this section, everything in the section has to be recalculated and redisplayed to reflect the change. If you are creating a report with lots of pages, this can take a while.
Try setting a dummy local limit in the Result section that limits your data to a vary small subset of what is actually needed. This will significantly decrease the time needed by the recalculation process. When you have the report formatted and totaled the way you want the user to see it, simply remove the dummy limit and the report will recalculate to show all of the data.
This tip will also work with all for all of the other sections (Charts, Pivots, etc.) that are contained within the same Brio document
